I'm in too! Getting tired of hunting by myself which does put some limits on where I can go considering packing meat out. Many of my hunting buddies are more "casual" hunters so it's often hard to plan for more than a couple days! PM sent!

Hi everyone

Well... less than 24 hours from when I posted this and already received quite a few PM's! More than I anticipated so soon. That's great! I think the more people who are interested the better it will be for everyone involved. Keep the PM's coming!

Just moved here from TX. Never hunted before but determined to secure my own wild meat for my family. Back in TX I kayak and wade fished in all kinds of weather and temperatures so I know about grinding it out.

I know things are different out here with the elevation. I'm still getting used to it but I have dropped about 25 lbs. since we moved here 3 months ago.

I would be interested in this. I am planning on hunting next year, and I will be scouting between now and then.

Also, even though I haven't hunted, I have shot quite a bit and had plenty of combat training while in the NAVY.

To all who have PM'd... I just sent out an initial email to all of you to get the "Network" going! If you PM'd me your email but did not get an email from me today titled CoHiCntry "Hunters Network"... please shoot me a PM so I can figure out what went wrong. So far there are 34 interested hunters which is quite a bit... hopefully this will turn out to be very beneficial!

This is brilliant. There's nothing more valuable in the backcountry than a trusted hunting partner. If mine ever tips over, I'll be adding my name to the list.

What is your plan with this list? In my mind you should categorize by what people expect in terms of type of hunt and maybe species. Just wondering your vision once you have a bunch of emails?

I hope to find someone to elk hunt with in CO next year or maybe the year after.

An an analyst, my (unfortunately) 1st thought was to create a "form" or some type of questionnaire with some of the things people are posting. For example, could list things like:
* Preferred Hunt Locations
* Current Residence
* Age Range
* Hunt Type (Firearm/archery, animal type, spike camp/car camp/hotel camp/etc.)
* The all other misc category

I think it was mentioned by CoHiCntry for volunteers to work on something. I am not able to do much from work as email and some internet access is locked-down and my evening time is limited but I would be willing to help out with a google doc or something like that. Would be interested in hearing other people's thoughts. Also not sure if this is something the forum can support on a technological level.

I will be sending my info out hopefully tonight.

Fantastic idea!!!
My hunting partner has cancelled on me at the last minute TWICE in the last 3 years.
I'm definitely looking for someone more interested in seeing hunts through.
I live in Colorado too ... I'll send you a PM.

My "plan" is to hopefully help some of us who struggle to find dedicated hunting partners to get in contact with each other and put some hunts together with others who are like minded and have the same goals in mind. It will be a work in progress I'm sure. We're currently putting together some type of spreadsheet like you mentioned. If you have specific questions you can send me a PM. Thanks...

Thanks for the recommendation... working on a spreadsheet now.
