I was VERY fortunate to draw the desert bighorn tag in Texas back in 2012. The hunt was in July 2013. Got a great 165" ram.
I took the sheep to my buddy and local taxidermist, Jerry Huffaker. I told him I wanted a pedestal mount, but not one that looked like a wood cabinet. I wanted the pedestal to look like the rocky country that the sheep lived in. Jerry came up with a really cool design. He used the mount for his contest piece the next year and won the state shows that he went to with it. He won the national taxidermy show. Then he got invited to the world taxidermy show and won best in the world at that one. He's retired now. One of the best taxidermists around.
