Its still sinking in that I actually did this; solo, 900 miles away from home, in some amazing terrain. I am indebted to everyone on the forum, past and present, for all the info shared over many years of threads. I learned so much out there. I have written a little diary of the hunt that gets into the play by play. I'm gonna hold off posting it til wintertime when most things slow down a bit. Now that is a lot of shooting. 2 bucks and 4 doe I assume. Two a day for three hunters is pretty stout.Congratulations everyone. Great pictures n stories. I haven't hunted wyoming for about 5 years now. Gonna go again soon.
Best we ever did was 18 antelope in 3 days. 6 tags each

I remember going to the Brown and Gold in Rawlins on opening morning with my dad to buy tags for area 61 every year. He would buy 2 doe tags, we would drive out and shoot his does and be back in Rawlins within a couple hours. Times have sure changed...When I first started hunting Wyoming you could buy up to 6 additional doe/fawn tags for antelope and/or deer. Back then if I remember correctly they cost $6.00 ea and you could buy them a local stores.
I haven't been out this year but I did draw a doe goat tag in November so HOPEFULLY I can slip out for at least one day.
45-70 for antelope hunting, like bringing a knife to a gun fight! Lol
Giving you guff. I've wanted to shoot one with my .50 cal pretty sure that would do the job. Just want to get within open sight range and go old fashion for funI thought it was a bit more fun having to get within 45-70 range
Whops...I used to shoot my 45-70 Sharps in 1000 yard matches....LOLI thought it was a bit more fun having to get within 45-70 range
