You will be charged with no refund for:

Just got to checkout page and it comes to $466 does this sound right?
As JimP stated, you need the habitat stamp if between ages 18-64, even if applying for a preference point. I thought when applying online, they would automatically add the habitat stamp. Your Lic/App fee is 468 (466 + 2), WES=.75 and S&R=.25 for $469 total and then the $10 for habitat stamp. Are you at the point of final checkout where it is asking for payment info?

Quick one guys, how do I know when I have a point and can I log in anywhere to see that information on the cpw site?

I have found a page that asks for either a CID number search or last name search. Neither of which work. I have a CID number on the receipt from when I made purchase and have it typed correctly.

All help appreciated. Cheers

The preference point won't show until the results come out on June 1st. You probably tried to log in to the draw results and preference points. You don't have a history in the system yet. Patience lol.

Hi s8, good on you for planning a US hunt. I did a swap hunt there last year and got a decent elk and pronghorn in Wyoming - bow hunted on general tag. I'm heading back this year to try for another elk and mule deer. I buy points in Wyoming and Colorado and recommend these states for non residents. Send me a message if you need any help with the tags or other regulations eg hunters education.

Cheers kiwi. My mate heading out this year on a swap hunt is what got me really motivated to crack on with it. I will be buying for Wyoming later this year as well so looks like I picked the right two states. I'll send you a PM when I get a chance and hopefully get to have a yarn with you at some point about how to go about it.

If you're too eager to just see points you are going to crazy when you actually apply! Welcome to the crazy club! Stick around I'm sure somebody can point you in the right direction once you get a couple of points. I would still strongly consider that Wyoming general tag as there are a ton of areas open and long seasons to really have a great experience.

How does the refund work as well. Does it go back on the card I used? Do I need to do anything or is it automatically refunded?

CO sent me a refund check, got it two days ago, automatic process because I bought a point. Be easier for me if they just credited the card, but they have always just sent a check. I'd guess they will do the same for you, but it may have been put it on a slow boat. I bet your refund is enroute. You should not have do anything but wait for it to arrive as far as I know.

I don't think anyone mentioned that Wyoming sets aside 25% of their tags for a random draw that does not take preference points. But that being said you should start buying your Wyoming points this year. When you get a few then you can look at the units draw percentages on the regular draw and special draw. You could very well draw a good tag in Wyoming with just a few points.
