Well who is making it out and what are you seeing? Feel free to add any general reports, scenery, camp, or animal pics to pass the time until the seasons open.

Around here the jeep trails are finally opening up and I have not made it out much due to rain and snow but I hope to get out more soon. Lots of rain = everything is very green high and low in Colorado and this might just be the year for me to look low for a buck.. Hope we all can find that buck or bull we are looking for!

But I was able to get a shot of this one little buck who has some growing to do.




And while clouds make it hard to see they sure can be pretty!

I've been out a few times. I've seen some good bucks so far but nothing real huge. We have been getting a ton of rain this passed week and after three weeks of 100 degree temps it has been a nice change. The hills are as green as I've ever seen them and the few bucks I've seen have really impressed me on how big their horns are already. It will be a awesome horn growth year in Nv.

Here's a few decent bucks I turned up a couple weeks ago..


Saw this guy while fishing, and yeah, he caught more fish than I did....

I've been out about 4x to a new area I'm trying to figure out. Have yet to see a single buck. Have trail cams up and there hitting water between 2-3 am. I'm rethinking my vacation days.. Hard to hunt nocturnal deer. Have a couple 3x3's on camera but nothing worth sticking a tag on yet. I do have one kitty on cam that was pretty cool. Not sure how the pic will show up. I just keep telling myself on the drive home. "Scouting trips of seeing no deer are just as productive as seeing deer. I'm about to expert level of finding where the deer are not"

Every time I get home my daughter says "daddy! Did you find deers? And I kindly respond with "negative sugar, just hiked really far with a cool backpack and really nice optics"

Lax, Nice height on that buck. Decent cutters and mass. Upper 70s buck and maybe 80"?? A shooter on most hunts IMO. He would sure be hard to turn down!

I was thinking he could go 80. His cutters are way above his ears. They still have some growing to do and that's a debate we're having hear at work. I know they go though a spurt but should keep growing. He has been laying down in same spot everytime I head out

Just got back. Saw a lot of country, most of it where I was last week. Left home a lot earlier and saw lots of animals. Lots of deer, some elk, 3 bears and a few grouse. Found a couple of really good looking areas with lots of tracks leading from a huge grove of Quakkies going to water and feed in a couple of big parks. Pictures taken at 9 to 10k feet. Everything is so green & lush, looks like spring. I rode my quad, roads really rough, didn't want to take my new truck as I really doesn't have a lot of clearance.

Looks like I've narrowed down the area I'm going to hunt. Found several good camping spots too. One more trip in about a month should do it. The area really looks promising, just have to see how much pressure it gets during archery season before M/L starts.

Great to see folks getting out.

Seen a few that may turn into good bucks but the rain/clouds every day I have to go out has made it tough so far. To pass the time it is fun to see this guy as comes by work every day to get a couple donuts and is a cool buck... Got to love big tame town bucks!

Found the mulie that gave me the slip twice last year has gotten bigger from last year hopefully now i can connect with an arrow.
