Region Y is sold out?

Maybe someday. Was talking to one of the regional G & F supervisors a couple months ago about that since he hunts up there. He said they have no plans of changing G & H to limited quota for residents. Imagine there'd be more than a few of us who would get pretty vocal if they ever got serious about it...

I got a buddy that lives in Kemmerer and he rubs it in that I can't just buy a tag for over there, I'm gonna rub it in so bad when they start limiting residents in G and H!!!

I have a buddy that gets landowner tags in 100 elk every year. Boy, do I get reminded about that this time of year!

What is it with people that get stuff like that and they have to go and rub it in?? Good for you ya want a trophy or a gold star is what I want to ask them. I've got a buddy that gets cow elk tag vouchers every year in Utah, they drive around in their trucks and shoot them in hay fields and he has the balls to make fun of me spending $290 in Wyoming and hiking my tail off with everyone else to kill a cow!

I played around on google earth the other night and it's some pretty interesting country!! Way different than I remember!

I disagree. The problem in 87,89,90 are not more applicants, its less tags. 87 had 200 tags in 2009, this year there were 9 resident tags and no NR tags at all. 90 had 150 tags on 2010, 89 had 275 tags on 2009. I dont know exact numbers on those to but U believe it is 25-50 for those 2 now. I think all the tag cuts are pushing apps to other areas and making all the points go

How the heck did 164 get into this discussion and who the heck would ever say it looks like the moon, LOL?!!! I'm about like several of you guys in that I have 5 PPs and was planning on using them to draw 125. That plan is now out the window with it taking 7 or max PPs to get that tag this year in both draws. Last year I even partied with a guy from Ohio that had 7PPs and we were in the 5.5PP pool. It didn't even get to our pool before the tags were gone because they cut the tags to 100 in the Final Reg. I'm thinking I will not even buy any more PPs and just use the 5 to get a G tag and go there in the next year or two before it takes more PPs than I have to draw it the way things are going now in the PP rat race.

Yea, I'm in deep enough now that after looking at the PPs for G this year I might have to sink another $40 into a PP to be in the hunt to draw next year if I decide to go that route. I really wish I had never started buying the damn things after not getting in right from the getgo!

I have 2 pp's after this year for deer, Im torn on what I should do as well. I might keep building them and hunting some 2nd choice regions, but it appears that plan is no longer a guaranteed. I really should spend some time in G and H, as I was really not impressed with R.

Send me a PM if you have time and let me know exactly what area you hunted in if you don't mind saying. I had thought about doing R several years ago, but now my PPs are enough that I would burn a bunch since R doesn't take much to draw it. I may try R one year, but not until after I hunt G on these PPs. For this year it's right back to where I always hunt in M.
