Region Y is sold out?

The leftover list is showing Region Y is sold out. Has this ever happened before?

My luck has gone from bad to worse. I tried to get a CO tag that I had an 86% chance of drawing and I didn't draw, so I thought I'd try to pick up a Region Y leftover and now that is out the window. Back to the drawing board I guess :(

It looks like as a 2nd choice tag, Y only gave you a 77% chance at drawing.

Either my first western hunt will be postponed yet another year, or I'll look elsewhere.

Get an Antelope tag for one of the Units around Gillette, a GPS an OnXmaps system and get your first hunt here out of the way! I haven't ever seen them sell out on those tags for Antelope.

First time I've seen Y sell out and I've had several people that have talked to me about also having that as a backup plan, so I hope they drew their first choices because that's out the window! The draw results were all over the board and many areas really went up for the number of PPs a NR needed to draw compared to last year.

I pulled Y as a second choice. Unfortunately, the plan was for a friend who didn't participate in the lottery to pick up a leftover permit and come with me.
I drew it 2nd choice too and was planning on having a friend or my son pickup a leftover tag. Kind of surprised at the results

You guys must have drawn in the Special draw because Regular draw is showing 81% 1st choice with no points. Last year it had leftovers. I noticed not all 1st choice apps drew C either and last year 25% drew it 2nd choice. Some other tags I been watching went up too.

Half the tags I've been waiting for have jumped 2-4 points, I'm not a max point guy and was watching some low key areas. Well all the meatheads that are point banking have probably realized that isn't a smart option flooded the market so to speak!! Region G and H had guys burning 6+ points, that to me is just asinine!!

I dont see anywhere really to go with 4 points other then G. I kinda want to burn them and hunt some regions you can draw with 0 points.
I've got 6, I've wanted a 87 or 89 tag and a few years ago I coulda drawn them, but not now thanks to these magazines that taylor to the money man who won't do an ounce of research before hand they've ruined the odds in many units. G is not worth 6 points until they start limiting residents!!

I disagree. The problem in 87,89,90 are not more applicants, its less tags. 87 had 200 tags in 2009, this year there were 9 resident tags and no NR tags at all. 90 had 150 tags on 2010, 89 had 275 tags on 2009. I dont know exact numbers on those to but U believe it is 25-50 for those 2 now. I think all the tag cuts are pushing apps to other areas and making all the points go up.

I wasn't specifically saying those units stated above, I'm more than aware of the tag cuts and what it's done to other areas!! Thats what I was trying to say!! Everyone is seeing tag cuts and jumping to the NEW up and coming units that a lot of us that have frequented Wyoming for more than two decades have been kinda watching and waiting for the ideal time and then poof up 2-4 points without even batting an eye!!

I know points have jumped like crazy in alot of areas. part of why I would almost rather hunt easy to draw areas no one wants to hunt. lol

Thats where i would be headed too. I might try to dump them next year. They dont seem to be worth much the way things are going and I would rather hunt then wait for a tag I will never draw.

You'd think 6 points would provide something. I'm leaning on unit 34 in the future but they cut tags pretty hard their this year. I thought for sure Cobbhunts would have drawn special with 4 points but he didn't. Things are getting slimmer every year and I'm with ya dump them!! My buddy from Kemmerer keeps telling me Region G but I'm not that desperate! Not yet at least hahaha!!

I don't pay nearly as close attention as you guys especially since a lot of the Big Horns is general deer, but the leftover list is pretty barren. It seems like there is usually something left pretty late in the year in previous years. What is left now are places I don't now if I would try without some private land connections. There wasn't a lot of success in the Black Hills last year with that early snow pushing animals down to private land early from what I have heard, and in the Big Horns the animals got pushed all over. Deer numbers are down for sure, though. Just from a roadkill count, there are not as many deer around.

The biggest shock to me was the very few Region F tags leftover!!
