Portable presses

I'm looking into getting a portable press for my bow. I'm tired of driving to the range to have them press it everytime and want something I can use in a pinch while hunting if needed. My biggest pet peeve is taking it an hour away for tuning when I could do it myself.

Biggest things are price and being able to use them on a variety of bows, specifically my bowtech insanity.

Your packing a bow press?

Thanks

I can see why someone would want a pocket press for their trip. I don't have any suggestions, but I can see why you might want one for a trip. Once had a friend draw his bow back on a freezing rain day and his string rolled right off him cam.

I think Cabelas carries one that uses a ratchet strap like on tie downs. I don't know if they are any good or if they are portable enough for your needs. Just remember seeing them at one time.

I have one and they work better on single limb bows, it won't work on my husband's bowtech cpxl because the limbs have too much curve. They work great otherwise though!

The one I listed above works great on Split limb bows.

I am confused. I thought all bows had two limbs?
All bows have a top and bottom limb, but some have split limbs. the single limb bows are simply one solid limb top and bottom. Look at a bowtech carbon overdrive or mathews z7 vs a bowtech insanity, rpm 360, etc.

25, the only thing I would be concerned with on that one is the preloaded past parallel limbs on my bowtech insanity. As far as I have to press mine to get the cables loose, the press may not be hanging on by a whole lot.
