Wyoming Hart,

Sure can. If you bring the chips/cases in we can swap you out with the new chips. We also have the update cards available so you can do it at home.
okielite,

Please feel free to contacts us if you are finding issues. Thanks.
Well I will give you an example. Go look in the Kansas atlas on page 28. You will see a little town called Ransom to the North of Ness city. Directly North of ransom about 5 miles there is a long skinny piece of walk in hunting just off 220 rd, but on my chip it only shows about half of the walk in land for that piece. I noticed this several times when I was driving around comparing the gps to the walk in atlas. I also checked the signs on the fence to confirm the land was still enrolled, which it was. Somewhat frustrating considering that only reason I sent my chip in for an update was to get the walk in areas.

I did on Saturday. Thanks so much for the help. It was good to see that my main county in PA got added. I did notice some discrepancies on property boundaries and landowner names. Those were just with properties that I am familiar with. Also saw some properties with old landowner names with them. They were transactions within about the last 18 months. I'm sure some of the issues are beyond your control and just issues with the county system.

I'm surprised that there has been no response from Team Hunt on these issues that have been brought up. They asked to be notified of issues and it looks like that has happened.

okielite,

We only offer a Plains Regional chip and not a Kansas specific chip. At this time we do not have a Kansas "walk in" layer for that product. Could you possible be mistaken on your product?
Send us an email at [email protected] or give us a call at 406-540-1602 and we can look up your account to see what you have.

Yes, I have the plains chip. And your company told me it would have the walk in land for Kansas. I even have the exact post. I'm not mistaken about anything. Your told me your product would have walk in land marked which is why I sent the chip in for an update, and when I checked only some of the walk in land was marked. So clearly you did not deliver what you promised me. And on top of that you mailed it to the wrong address which I had to call and get fixed and now you want me to call you after I have already given you and example of the issue. And now you are telling me you never told us that Kansas would have walk in land marked which is absolutely not true. To say I am unimpressed with the customer service is an understatement. Here is your exact quote from HT.

Here are the states with current Walk in Areas, it is called something different in many states depending on what they call it. We will be adding as many more states as we can get data for.

Michigan has HAP lands
Nebraska has Public Access lands - HUNT GREAT PLAINS
Kansas has Walk-in Areas - HUNT GREAT PLAINS
Texas Public Hunting Lands
Colorado
Idaho (AccessYes Properties)
Minnesota
Montana (BMAs – Block Management Areas)
North Dakota (PLOTs – Private Land Open to Sportsmen)
Utah (both WIAs and CWMUs – Cooperative Wildlife Management Units)

i just got my chip back from kirshman outdoor products, had it up dated and have wyoming, colorado, nd, utah, montana and i think nevada all on one chip and it has names on the private which is nice and dont have to worry about changing out chips, all in one chip which works great for me.

Great first post BTW.

You should be saying WOW to their first response where they told me I didn't have an OnX Kansas map and that they dont' show the walk in land for Kansas. I was trying to politely tell him that not all the walk in land was shown on my chip and even took the time to give him specific examples. I was simply trying to let them know that their product did not include information that they had said was included. It's that simple.

When I tried to explain the problem and they tell me I dont' know what I am talking about that is is frustrating to me as I do know what I am talking about and what they told me was simply incorrect. That is what caused my somewhat stern post as I dont' like being told I'm wrong when I know that I am right. Fortunately I had the exact post where they said that walk in areas for Kansas were included and once I showed them the post they are cooperating.

Having walk in land included on these chips is really important as states like KS, WY, NE, and SD have large amounts of walk in land for hunting.

Give them a call and let them make it right. The guy seems like he want to fix your problem.

The information on there landowner chips is very accurate as long as you update them regularly. A local wyoming game warden told me that the information given is admissable in court in case it ever comes down to it. That is good enough for me

Anyone try the onx app for Android? I've heard its a little better than Trimble...
Yup, worked great at home, but didn't in the mountains. I cached maps like they said, but out there I couldn't get it to work. Luckily we stopped on the way and got the chip for the GPS pretty much saved our lives out there. The app worked good at home to study the trails and other things though.

I just bought 25 acres that border my land. I used the chip to see the general property boundaries. Pretty cool feature.

I love the thing! I have it on my laptop, Android phone and GPS. On the phone you have to download the maps you will need so that when you don't have a signal you can still see them. I would feel naked without them now!

I normally update mine once a year. I wait till August time frame as they normally have a new release at this time.
