I just think it is odd that they can tell us to leave a national park. It is my(our) property, we just pay them to work there.

Animals, land, government all belong to "us". We fund agencies, agencies control us. Never made much sense in my mind.

Good idea! You cant pay taxes anyway, the government is closed. lol
Imagine how fast things would happen if nation wide every person claimed exempt for a day.. Ive talked to many large business owners with a reputation for not paying their bills, they all have the same concept for not doing so. " well Andrew, if we hold money for a month and throw it in a savings account for a month (millions) just think about all the interest that goes straight into my pocket!" I get the same idea when I hear gov. Shutdown. Someones getting paid thru all this commotion, aint me!

I'm with you. They need to remember we send them to Washington to work for us. All of this public ground is all of ours not just a few people in governments, to decide if we can use it or not. Isn't it nice they cram obamacare down our throats but make themselves exempt.

The shut down is completely backwards if you ask me. lets start by not paying anyone elected to an office starting with the president and everyone in DC. Since they get paid way tomuch anyways it would save alot more money and they are a bunch of rich politicians and dont need it anyways. Besides if they did the jobs they were elected to do we wouldnt have these problems. They blow more money in 1 night then I will make in my lifetime and then have the nerve to ask us for more.

I think I am way over packed for this hunt and I could spend 2 weeks with it below zero with everything I loaded up! I got caught unprepared 1 time on a sept muzzle loader hunt in Utah and since then I have gone on every hunt prepared for anything.

Thanks Timber!! I plan on it! I was going to take my .270 for backup but the only gun in my truck is a model 1894 winchester 30-30 (other then my concealed .38 S&W and its not alot newer). Decided Im going to do this one way or another with a gun made in 1896 with peep sights:)

Well I am taking the 13 year old daughter back into the Cascades deer hunting again this morning. This will be our 4th attemt trying to find a buck. So far we've seen 4 deer, I'm amaized the she still wants to go after all the miles we've put in and lack of animals. Trying a new area today, maybe we'll turn up a buck for her. Deer hunting up there is tough though, I've only killed 2 bucks up there in the last 10 years. I tell her it's not easy, she says why do we hunt here? Answer, because it the only place we can, it's here or we don't hunt.

Who's ready for some Sunday football tomorrow!!! Hope the pats win and the rookies continue to develop. Also I will be rooting for the cowgirls to beat noodle arm. Absolutely hate manning and all the media ball washing he gets.

Well, didn't see a deer today. We put 8-10 miles on the boots and nuthin'. I woke her up @ 4:15 am and we got home @ 5:00 pm I think she's had enough, I wish it wasn't so tough. It's going to be hard to get her into hunting if I can't find deer.
