did find a 95 chevy 2500 with the 454 with 103,000 miles for a good price I ended up picking up for a work/ hunting truck. kinda glad other deal didn't work out, my last two work trucks were old chevy 2500 and those things are bomb proof, and bonus, a guy can actually work on them himself in his garage with normal everyday tools!!!!!
That can be almost said for just about any truck out there pre 2000 depending on the make. I have a friend that has a 2008 Ford F350 diesel and the AC didn't work last February when we were down in Arizona, yes it was that hot. I thought I would look and see if I could tell if the AC compressor was kicking on or not. One look under that hood and I just closed it and told him to take it to the shop that had worked on it in December replacing a radiator. It was hard to tell where anything was at much less the AC compressor.

The days of being able to get a vehicle running when you are in the back country with a pair of pliers and screwdriver are long gone unless you purchase a 40 year old vehicle.

Hide the women and children! Maybe just the antelope and coyotes. Luckily my phone autocorrects LeDoux so I don't have to think in French. I am pretty sure I would need a translator in N'awlins.

We got 22" in 2 and half days Dec 22nd, 23rd and 24th. I feel your pain. We still have roads and bridges out. It's going to take a couple of years to recover.

It's been a crazy fall, winter, and now spring in the south/southeast US.

Yes it has. Last Spring/Summer was a 100yr flood and it wasn't squat compared to this. we got 17" opening weekend of bow season in 2012 to break our drought and that seems to have set the trend for the past few years.

If rain is falling from them...rained yesterday a good bit & at it again today. I may tie some trotlines to my kid's swing set and use the neighborhood squirrels for bait.

Off to Grand Junction tomorrow for a Dr appointment at the VA Clinic to look over my ankle.

Most important thing....going to Cabelas!!! Looking for a new fish finder for the pontoon boat(and whatever else my budget can stand!)

It may sound strange but I am getting where I prefer Sportsman's down in Grand Junction. It seams that every time that I go into Cabela's down there they just don't have what I am looking for. Even when I head over to Denver I find myself at Sportsman's more than I do Cabela's.

The new rumor is that Bass Pro is going to purchase Cabela's. This one has been floating around for over a year but I saw a little bit more on it last week that it may be going ahead.
