I would try a different coil too but I am assuming you have Accel coil that matches your distributor? I would also check wiring to the coil and make sure you have good power to it or run a wire straight to the battery and see if it makes a difference. What are you using for a fuel pump and carburator? I would put a vacuum and fuel pressure gauge on it and see what they are doing when it misses. That will tell you alot. It will be something simple when you find it.

Checked voltage to coil. Simple HEI, 12 volts to the coil that sits on top of the cap, all brand new. Mechanical fuel pump, standard stock. Tried a Holley 650 that I've ran for years without issue on my Jeep. Then bought a rebuilt Quadrajet, same results on both carbs. I ve built and ran several Chevy engines and never had to regulate fuel pressure for them to run with mechanical pumps.

I have a huge philosophical question. When you apply for a preference point or bonus point and receive it, should your draw status say "SUCCESSFUL" or "UNSUCCESSFUL"???
Thanks for raising such a serious issue that impacts many of us. I'd recommend using a focus group and possibly consulting with some plaintiff attorneys. I know this has given me much anxiety.

But since a point is a purchase, guaranteed, is it not the fault of the states for putting them in the draw and confusing us? WY fixed this, OR has the same process now, so maybe help is on the way.

The miss is back on the Blazer! The timing is perfect at an idle, as soon as it gets to about 1500 it jumps all over and misses. Gotta be in the distributor.

What advance do you have? vacuum? Mechanical? It sounds like its not working correctly. Is your engine stock or you have a cam in it? A big cam can make vacuum erratic and a vacuum advance not work properly.

Twer the distributor MM. Bought one off amazon for $55 and it runs like a top. People, stay away from the Accell brand HEI distributors, theys junk.
