Started working on my old 73 Harley today. Gonna be ready when the weather gets better this year! Converted it from kick start to electric start last year and I screwed up mounting the new oil tank and battery box. 50 mile into a 200 mile ride last summer the chain wore into the oil tank enough that it started leaking. 100 miles into it (the last 100 miles is nothing but pavement, if you ever been from Hollister to Coalinga, CA on hwy 25 you know what I mean) it was getting worse so I tore it apart in the true value hardware parking lot in in Hollister, CA, patched it with jb weld and spaced it out more with washers and got there and back! When I was almost there it clicked in my head what I did wrong and why it rubbed on the chain. So now Im remounting it and putting a new starter drive since the used one I got with the starter slipped pretty bad.
