2 more days of season. I have to work a little this morning then I'm off the rest. I can't decide if I want to go look for the big buck or not. It just seems like very slim odd he will be there. But damn he's a nice buck!

Just got my duck decoys rigged up. Got 6 more mallards coming in, rig them up and it's time to go kill some quackers when the water arrives

This front we had blow in brought the gadwall & wigeon with it. Tons and tons of acorns for them in the flooded bottoms this year.

Need to get the fields irrigated and then water can start flowing back into the ponds. And also if this storm coming can bring some rain and snow, and with the ranchers up the river letting water down, should be great duck hunting coming.

I know how you feel Timber. I haven't had a whole lot of luck getting kiddo on anything yet. At least you had a good chance at a nice buck. That was kindof fun to follow along with. I was hoping you found him again.

Had I been shooting my 25-06 with a scope it would have been a dead buck. But not open sight muzzle loader.
I hear that one! There would have been a 180+ buck down in Utah a few years ago if I had had my 270, even the 30-30, anything I could have reloaded faster! That buck still haunts me. I flatout blew it twice on that buck.

Wife and her dad took out the kid for deer today. I was supposed to get some work around the house done, but I am very easily distracted from those kinds of things.

Open sighted makes it even more of tough shot, I was picturing a scoped ML or something, which would still be a tough shot.

Scope makes a huge difference on that. Unless my wife was the one shooting the scoped gun today...150ish yards and she whiffed, I think. Deer rattled her and she couldn't remember where it was or where exactly it went. Made for a long morning of me crawling through briar thickets hoping for a miracle.

What a great day for football. The Denver fraud Broncos with their stat padding QB who wilts under pressure got beat by the GOAT QB and HC of all time. And the gronk is unstoppable. Today was awesome. Can't wait for the AFCCG rematch between these 2
