That is why poaching really hasn't been curtailed. It is cheaper to poach than to buy an outfitter. Here in California people poach the hell out of abalone, like hundreds over the bag limit, and they only get small fines, maybe a couple days in jail. The consequences aren't nearly as harsh as they should be.
Here that $1000 = 4 dove over the limit.

I was just thinking it'd be cheaper for anti-wolf groups to pay fines for folks to shoot them all...:D

Yes the consequences are that they close the entire Fort Ross reef to law abiding folks!!!!!!
Got ready to lay down $$$ for NR license and ab tag to find out the spot I have been going for 20 years is closed.

The Buffalo in the happy hunting ground better look out cuz they got a new dog to keep them in line now. I guess going in your sleep on a nice night laying in 1 of your favorite places under a 65 Ford pickup is about as good as anyone can hope for. Doesnt seem like its been 12 years since she was 6 weeks old.

OK I broke down and opened the Keystone that one of my cheap buddies left in my fridge a month ago.

Under the right circumstances, low on cash, down on luck, 0148 on a Sat morning, and the bar ran out of PBR, I'd think about drinking one if Musket sprung for the round....:p:cool:

Been pretty dry around here but it changed fast. Got 2.8" of rain friday evening. Got another 7.6" last night and this morning. It all came nice except for the first inch Friday night. Pastures are green again and the muleys are doing well. Seems like we get all our rain for the year at once some times. Average about 17" a year in this area.

Holly crap! That's a bunch of rain in one storm. If we get an inch in a storm, it's considered a gully washer! Lol
