Just got my first month's magazine. I live in central Texas. Have been on 3 elk hunts in Colorado, units 64/5 and unit 76 with one bull killed (280 inch 5x5 in unit 76). Did have opportunities the second time I hunted unit 65, just couldn't close the deal before he crossed to private property. Never hunted mule deer, but hoping to go soon if not this year. I have 16 NR points for Colorado deer. Wanting to go this year, but want to make the best use of these points and if it would be better to wait a little longer, I will. I will be going with my 67 year old dad though, so can't wait too many more years. Looking forward to learning what I can from you guys with much more experience than me.

My dad and I went to Wyoming in 2012 on an antelope hunt, sharing time with my dad made it the best hunt I've ever been on to date.
