More Poachers

Farmers that are getting crop damage have to call G & F and report it. Biologists come on site and verify it is happening. The farmer gets a depredation permit to kill a definate number of animals and they are picked up to be processed and given to food banks, etc. Thats how it happen here. Usually G & F tries other methods to keep the animals away from the farmed area and depredation is usually the last resort.

This is how is it SUPPOSED to happen. But we know it doesn't always work this way. There are factors involving poachers, this is simply only one of them.

here in sw idaho, f&g is hiring hunters to shoot them at night with the use of night vision scopes. they then pick em up in the morning and donate the meat.

they say they can't issue tags to the average hunters because the elk only come into the fields after dark. guess hunters is to dumb to hunt perimiter of property?????

oh well ,it is what it be.

no. I was responding to CCs post concerning depravation hunting. would be pretty cool to watch F&G light up some poachers though.
