I have never had the occasion to return a scope to Leupold for service, but quite a number of years ago I was gifted a VX3 1.75-6 with a crosshair/dot reticle. I never made friends with it, I prefer a fine-duplex.

Last week, I sent the scope to Leupold to see if they could replace the dot with a fine-duplex. It cost me $60 and I got it back today with the new reticle, cleaned and function tested. Less than 10 days turn-around to Alaska! I'm impressed!!

Now that's service! AK, on another note I just bought my camera. It's a Nikon coolpix 130. I hope I'll get some great pictures soon :).

I will let you know. I am taking my scope in to either get it replaced or whatever. Can't get it to site in. We have concluded that something was likely wrong with it since I got it. It wasn't obvious until this past weekend. I have been waiting for rain to site in. I am now 10 days from my hunt without the scope I want to use. If I need to, I can swap out a 3-9 I have in a box, but I would sure like to have the 4-12.

I was having issues on 2 Leupold VX-II with the magnification ring being extremely difficult to turn. Sent them in during the off season, got them back in 10 days looking brand new with perfect, easy moving magnification rings. 2 thumbs up from me!

Over the years I have had occasion to need/use Leupolds customer service & repair. I have never been unhappy with their approach and my results. Almost all of my service needs have been reticle changes and ballistic turrets. I did have several scopes I bought used I wanted checked out.

One time I had some problems with my Dad's old Leupold 6x scope that was pre Gold Ring, which meant it probably wasn't covered with their lifetime warranty. My Dad fell and dropped his rifle and the scope was badly dented and the ocular lens was cracked. I called them and they said send it in. After a week or so, I received a call from their service manager. He told me the scope could not be repaired. I was expecting that as it was pretty mangled. I also told me that because my Dad was a good, longtime customer, they would replace it at no cost and what did my Dad want as a replacement. About a week later he receive a brand new VXlll 3x9 for he only big game rifle, an old sporterized Springfield 30-06. My Dad was amazed. Dad passed away in 2012 at 94 and his Springfield has an honored place in my gun case, the VXlll still on it.

Leupold is great ..............

Good stuff right there CC. I wouldn't trade VXlll scopes for any other scopes in the world because I have built that much trust in them. I'm sure a better scope can be purchased but I'll never know.

I love Leupold optics. One time I was over antelope hunting and I stepped on my Gold Ring compact binoculars. When I looked through them one eye was fishing while the other was baiting the hook. The barrels were out of alignment. I sent them in with a note as to what I had done. They corrected the alignment, took them apart and cleaned everything, and then sealed them back up. Shipped back to me a few days later.......no charge!

Same binoculars and I had my 5 year old son with me. Some folks had left garbage at a spot we had parked at to go hunting so I was spending some time picking up trash while my son sat in the truck waiting. He got bored and screwed with the adjustments on each barrel and messed up the seal turning them out all the way. Sent them in and a short time later they were sent back, cleaned and resealed. Again no charge.

I think they build a great product and they stand behind their stuff.

I had a VX3 go down on a 340Wby, years ago. Luckly, it was a few weeks before a hunt and they turned it around in 10 days. Its still on the 340 to this day!

Yep, I love their stuff. All my scopes are Leupold and my range finder is as well. My rang finder started acting up and the numbers weren't showing up at all. It was 4-5 years old so I figured I might get a credit or something and have to buy a brand new one. I dont remember how long it took, but I never heard anything from them and received a brand new range finder in the mail complete with a brand new battery. I also lost the covers on my binoculars and they sent those with the range finder. I guess I don't have any complaints at all. The best thing is that as much stuff as I have from them I have only had one thing that needed to get sent in. Everything else is great.

My brother and I must have 20 of their products. Only one went bad, a late 70's 3x9x40, eye piece focus threads stripped, possibly with help. Took it to the factory, got an email in 2-3 days, do you want to pick up the new scope or have it shipped. Nice upgrade. Keep hoping 3 other early to late 70's scopes I use will crap out, no such luck. Very good scopes.

I sent a leupold 3x9x40 in about for months ago for a reticle change, and the turn around time was great. I had the scope back within 10 days. Leupold contacted me as soon as they received the scope. Great customer service!!

I have several Leupold products. In the early 80s I put a Vari x lll on my Ruger 77 .300 win mag. After sighting in it was never touched. Checked out each year before season, but was always on. In 2000 something happened and it would only be in focus on 4 power. Had 3 weeks before a planned mule deer hunt. Sent it back to the factory explaining my problem. I received a notice stating that they received it and were working on the issue. In 5 days I got it back with a letter saying that they had fixed the problem, added 3 new updates that had evolved after I purchased it, polished and re-coated the lenses, new seals and filled it with whatever gas they put inside. They said normally they would have touched up the minor blemishes on the outside, but never in order to get it back to me in time to get it re-mounted and sighted in before my hunt started. Scope was installed and sighted in and has not needed adjustment since. Used every year and checked for zero before each season. Can't say enough about their service. I see they now have bought out Redfield.
