I like to ice fish Lake Granby here. Plenty of lakers that are great eating size! Still in the search for the 30"+ fish. They are definitely there. Hopefully some great pics this winter and then return him to the water!

Elk, have you ever tried the ice-off fish up at Granby? My buddy and I got up there one year and camped; it must have been March or even April as it was RIGHT after ice off and it was cold and wet but we killed the lake trout on big suspended rapalas and spoons. Some of them were pretty nice, in the 20" range at least. Of course that was back before I had a digital camera for proof :(

Man I miss ice fishing.
I fish up there all different times of the year! Believe it or not I do pretty well in the fall and ice off fly fishing for the lakers. Stripping streamers works pretty well. I spend a lot of time in that area. I have a place about five minutes from the lake!

Nice place to be Elk! Very cool! I used to work for the agency formerly known as the CDOW and we did SONAR surveys on all the big reservoirs in CO including Granby and Green Mountain.

Anybody out there ice fish Blue Mesa? That sukcer has produced some giant lake trout. Used to be good kokanee fishing too. Been a long time since I've had the honor the fish those parts.

Havent had a chance to ice fish wyo much; did one trip up to seminoe when i lived in Ft. Collins and got blown off the lake-not to mention the auger got torn up by the grit in the ice.

While I haven't had a chance to ice fish it, I did a summer of work on Boysen and I always wanted to get back up there and catch some of those big wallies through the ice.

Oh yeah, forgot to mention; during our marathon christmas in-laws adventure up to Casper I was surprised to see that Glendo didn't have as much ice on it as I thought it would.

Seemed plenty cold and snowy that week of xmas but as you point out laxwyo, maybe the weather just hasn't been consistent enough.

Here's a pic of an eagle that absconded with my freshly caught cutthroat at Henrys lake in Idaho during a recent trip. The eagle proceeded to eat the trout 15 feet away from where we were fishing. It looked like he was hungrier than I.

Meathunter- cool picture. I think I would have let him eat it as well just to watch him up close.

Love fishing for big lakers this time of the year. Here are a couple of the better ones either my father or I have caught this year. All catch, photo, and release for us.

Winter continues to be a goofy one here in southern MN. Not a lot of ice and some crazy ice formations.

Nice fish Bob! I wish we had some good perch lakes around here. Catching a few crappie around here, but boy this weather has the walleye all screwed up. The ice is really raising havoc on the cabins on ottertail lake already, some are already being hit.
