That's seems to have escalated quickly hahaha. It's a great idea but I get my info to start from the MRS, it usually has a solid chart in there with the deadlines for the species.

What he asked had virtually nothing to do with researching a hunting area, is available in both Eastmans and Huntin Fool, and almost every hunt odds web site, where he easily could have been directed.

Guess I'm old school. I never call a guy a smart *ss if I don't know whether or not he can whip me!
If I am sure he can, I carry-on. :)

100% agree with you WB, and likely why he got a little good natured jazz in a reply.

Wow is all I can say. Wouldn't want to get on his bad side...

Can you imagine the size of the spreadsheet that the matrix would need to list out all the states elk seasons to include general, limited entry, bow, muzzy, gun, disabled, youth, cow, spike, bull etc. etc.?

If he has been putting in for 15 states, he must have some points built-up and is using some type of draw strategy. Like many of you guys have mentioned, I put all my various state hunt applications around the tags I have drawn or hope to draw, or have a high probability to draw for the current year. Hopefully I don't end up with overlapping hunts and schedule conflicts or worst case, burned points or tag fees on tags I won't be able to hunt. When you are applying for multiple family members like UH, the various draw scenarios complicate things tremendously.

I do like to to sometimes look at a particular hunt as to how it overlaps with other hunts in the same unit so you know what you are getting into. For example, is their a spike bull or cow hunt concurrent or partially overlapping with your limited entry bull tag that you want to draw that will take away from the quality of the hunt. Good to know that stuff going in so you can plan accordingly...

Surely an app could be created to do everything like that.

But I would like to congratulate Gr8bwana on the new BFF. :D

haha amen to that brother. I was a little shocked at that, Ive worked at a mental hospital for the last 15 years and I got to tell ya...... I was getting a Zyprexa and Haldol shot drawn up.... for me! what I don't get is we were all willing to help and always do but he approached it in a manic manner. If I'm hunting in mountains with fellas like that I better get better at my quick draw.

It's guys like that who propagate a lot of the "road rage". When some people feel like they are anonymous and safe they feel all powerful. There is so much smack talk on social media today it is no wonder there is so little respect out there. I never see that here (or at least not lately). The poor guy just must have had a Bern on.

I don't know what stuff is, but if it calms people down, he needed a double. I can't recall a more aggressive & angry response to fairly benign comments than this. I will say Gr8 is a better man than I, my reaction to receiving threats like that, probably would have been to send him my N & A and prepare an appropriate reception for him.

No point in responding to someone like that. As was mentioned earlier people will say all kinds of stuff on the internet that they would never have the gonads to say in person.
For the most part we keep it pretty civil around here even when we don't agree on a subject.
