Maybe archery deer in CO as I have a bunch of points. If not, will look into CO or Idaho elk. Plan on buying points again in WY for me and my two oldest. May try some spring turkeys here in GA just depends on my schedule. Oh and I like to fish MT. Would love to do a cast and blast(with a bow) in MT someday. Wish I had a ton of disposable income and time, then I could do it all. Don't we all.

I was hoping to burn my WY deer points next year, but my buddies want to wait. So it's points, points and more points for WY, NV and CO.

For CA: Might draw a X-zone hunt, but probably won't draw until 2018. A zone for sure.

I have enough points for a premium zone here in CA, we'll see if I burn them. I've got my eye on a couple OTC zones I know where the bucks are. Nothing out of state yet, I'd like to hunt elk some year.

For me, it is all about the mountains, and there is alot to do in the mountains. It is hard to think about next fall when i have the greatest season of them all right in front of me. Winter rocks! I am not a draw guy, i just hunt over the counter tags. i will pick some up next fall.

Well, that's quite a way to start!! Out of curiosity, why not start with smaller/local game?
BTW: I'm envious!
She will have all of September to hunt deer. Im sure she will get something stuck before she goes after moose.

My friend killed a moose two seasons ago and had never drawn an arrow on an animal in his life.

The rut is going on during the archery season and shots and close and the animals are big. lol

When you live where you do, it helps! :)
So when we going to hunt the back country together? I'll bring my bike!

Our plans for next year is to take a week off during archery season for elk, take 4 days off for opening of rifle elk, skip a couple weeks and take another week off for mule deer in eastern Montana. I'm already excited for next year!

I plan on OTC archery Elk in south Colorado and buying more points for Wyoming Moose and Elk. Wouldn't mind if i could get my hands on a Muley tag as well ;)

Back to Wyoming to see if what we learned this season can be used to harvest big mule deer bucks.

Our 3 preference points in South Dakota should get us nice mule deer tags as well.

If our rifle tag applications fail us our backup plan is to start archery hunting here in SD. Wifey gets a new bow for Christmas. She's gonna be excited.

When it comes a hunting season I always love to go out for a elk Hunt near our state. My elder brother is in authority so i can easily pass as I want to Hunt. With a best Spotting scope it's really so easy to hunt, seem to me. This year I have a target to hunt almost 3+ Elk so that it can fulfill all our family demands the next year.

Well I'll see what I draw. Some high country muley hunting in Wyoming. Hopefully I'll draw the elk tag I want, if not I'll get my cow tag and a general. Hopefully I'll pull another antelope tag, had a lot of fun with that last season. And I'll put in for everything else in Wyoming that I'll never draw. Maybe a turkey hunt with my brother in-law.

Baby #2 is coming this spring for me so my fall hunts are looking awfully limited. The wife last night told me she didn't want me to do a weeklong elk trip. That stings.

Oh, you better put your foot down now or it will bite you later. Ha. just kidding. Mine are all raised, but I remember my hunts taking a back seat to family. It's what we do. They don't stay babies long, enjoy them while you can. And squeeze in a little hunting now and then.

Put in for a 4th season deer hunt in Colorado this year with 12PP, which is plenty to draw...except this year. With 13PP in the bank, Dad and I will try again for 2017. Hoping to pull a 4th season tag to hunt rutting bucks in wintering grounds in southwest Colorado. Also, I've been soured on collecting PPs, so I'm looking for a spot in Colorado where a guy can hunt at least every other year. I've narrowed it down to a unit with public land and lots of potential, but lots of hunters...it's a trade off I suppose. Otherwise it's back to a family friend's ranch in Idaho for cow elk (too many deer/bull hunters in the regular season, I like the quiet of a late November cow elk hunt).

Applying for moose in Wyoming. Everything else will hinge on those results. I have enough elk, mule deer and antelope points to draw my desired areas but really want a moose in the freezer next fall. Cow elk will be my likely backup plan.

Just do what I did. My baby was due on opening weekend of rifle deer season, so I convinced her to be induced two weeks early. BAM! problem solved! Still ended up being in the middle of archery season and the hunting time was very limited. Luckily it was close to home so I could make short day trips.

Ya I'd be cashing those points in a heartbeat. I can't believe the legislators haven't squeezed by a bill to screw you by now. They were kicking that around years ago which is why I cashed mine in 2011. Plans were to convert a higher % from preference to bonus or random. It's still only a matter of time, because that's what liberal crooks do. Good luck in the draw, and getting the hell out of that nonrefundable game. .................I dumped my 8 sheep points immediately when they started taking $100/year.
