The question often comes up about how to post nice large photos on Eastman's. I thought I would start a thread on how to do this. We can then refer people to this thread when we get questions.

1) Open an account at Photobucket. www.photobucket.com

2) Upload your desired photos to your Photobucket account.

3) Click on the photo you desire to post on Eastman's

4) In the upper left hand you will see a tiny picture of two links of chain. Click on this to access the "links" (see the photo below).

5) After you have clicked on the links you will see a screen like what is shown below. Click on the lowest line called "IMG (for forums, boards)". You can see the correct line highlighted in "blue" in the picture below. "Copy" that link into your computer (the URL=http://…….).

6) Now go to your post on Eastman's where you want a picture and "paste" that information you copied into your post. That long string of numbers, letters and symbols that you just pasted into your post describes where to access your photo in your Photobucket account.

7) If you want to post another picture in the same post, insert your cursor below what you just pasted, tab down two or three lines and repeats steps 3-6.

UH,

What size image do you upload to Photobucket? Does it matter?

Mine are around 800X600 pixels. This seems to provide for sufficient viewing detail, and quick load times for me. It also seems to have a nice size when embedded on the forum.

BB I think you have a really good point there. I have always started with a full sized photo when I upload and let Photbucket deal with any resizing. Will that help control the size of the photo? On some forums my photos become quite large.

P.S. If there are any refinements or techniques anyone wants to add to this thread, please do.

All my Uploads to photo bucket are large files. Photobucket resizes all their photos for the web.

FYI guys, you can use any photo hosting site. It's simply a matter of copying it's address into the post.

Now I don't know much about posting pics, forums, facebook all that stuff. This is the only site I visit on a regular basis but it seems a bit difficult to do. Just seems like tecnology would have a simpler process... Is this the process for everything else? I thinking email style where you click one button and attach your photo. But I am probably missing the boat some how.

UH... I do appreciate the tutorial.

You can post pics from just about anywhere as long as they're on the web. Can even post them over from facebook. Just have to right click and open properties, copy the .jpg link and paste it over here between
