My name is Todd, I live in Fort Collins with my wife Bethany. I am an avid bow hunter and love to spend time in the mountains chasing deer and elk with friends and family. Looking forward to talking with everyone on here! I am very excited my dad has drawn a Colorado Unit 2 3rd season rifle buck tag. It has been a dream of ours to do a hunt like this together and the dream is finally a reality. I have also successfully given the hunting bug to my wife and she will be archery hunting for elk this year. Many adventures and memories to come, good luck to you all!

Nice to have you Todd. Your dad is a patient man to wait for that tag! I finally burned a ton of elk points this year in your state, and can't wait for muzzy season in September.

Nice work converting your wife! Have a great family hunt in NW CO this year. Looking forward to the report out... Have heard conflicting reports on Unit 2.

Umpqua Hunter he is patient, I think it helped he farmed so that kept him busy. Now he is retired so we are going to start working on that good ol bucket list. Congrats on your muzzy tag which unit did you decide on?

Points Hunter I have heard the same. The terrain and access were some of the bigger deciding factors. We like to get away from others when hunting and Unit 2 should allow for that. I will keep everyone posted, just got back from scouting we saw some nice bulls, but not very many deer. We drove 390 miles glassing and checking the unit out, it is huge and almost all public. It was very overwhelming driving and glassing so much but did finally manage to find a couple nice bucks so far. I think finding a true giant may be like finding a needle in the hay stack!

Will be in Fort Collins next weekend for 3 days before heading back home. Decided I would fly out and drive back with my son in case something goes wrong with his car.

Just wish the spot i am going hunting in CO wasn't 7 hours from there otherwise I would be doing a quick scouting trip!!

Isn't that the truth Winchester. I picked the unit out and researched long before I knew he was spending the summer there in Fort Collins.

Wont be long though and I will be back out for two plus weeks with bow in hand
