Guided Bear Hunt Experiences?

I have never really had the urge to go but my youngest really wants to bear hunt. He has a heart condition that keeps him out of high country and challenging terrain so we would likely need to do a guided spring hunt over bait in accessible country. Hoping to find something in the lower 48 that is high success without a lot of frills. Anyone have any pointers or experiences to share that may help me? I know very little about them and I'm honestly not too excited about a bunch of bear meat but he wants to go so I want to make it happen.

Don't underestimate that bear meat.

I had 84 pounds of snack sticks made out of ours from this year. We have eaten a third of that already. Its awesome.

One thing my Alaskan friends told me is that they only eat spring black bear. Never Griz or Brown bears and never after the salmon start running and the black bears diet changes to fish.

Look into Idaho, we got two bear units and lots of outfitters in them. There hunts were you sleep in a cabin/lodge every night or more backcountry style with wall tents. It all depends on how much you want to spend. Tags are cheap for the two bear units.

@BrandonM has a hunt that he has been on that might be a fun option if you are open to the fall and in Canada. By all accounts there are a LOT of bears, it is over fields and you can waterfowl hunt in the morning.

That sounds like something I want to look into. Would love some details so I can research. Thanks

Still researching a bear hunt if I could get details. The waterfowl combo has me intrigued. Thanks!

Send me a message, I can help you out with contact information. I also have a spring bear hunt in Wyoming that is pretty intriguing.
