Thanks for sharing Montana. That was a good video. Man you have a lot of birds out there. Was that private or public land? Either way that was quite the opening morning show. Bet the boy was all fired up when they were gobbling their heads off? I know you both enjoyed that experience. Congrats!

Thanks... it is private ground and the numbers are pretty high right now. The state increased the tags so we'll see how it unfolds. My little guys is not as into as my daughter, surprisingly. But it's good to get them out. She's up next. See what happens this weekend. Going to hunt some different ground.

Nice job and great video! I've tried filming in the field and you make it look easy. I usually end up setting the camera on the ground while filming and end up with a bunch of redundant leaf footage. Happy hunting.

I had over 31 minutes of video and downloaded a sweet app that allowed me to edit and convert file types. Took me 5 days but one I figured out what I was doing it only took 30 minutes :)

Well we filled our last tag... just like that, all done.

From the little one in the pink shoes to carrying out my bird. Growing up and becoming a pretty good little hunter. :) Cracks me up when those birds come in and I can hear and see her breathing hard.
Love it.

Awesome Montana.

Pre-season scouting, I had 4 different birds talking and my little girl was going nuts with excitement this past Saturday. It was her first hunt activity of any kind.

My 7 year old got his first big Tom on Friday night. The tom came in gobbling and then put on a strutting display 10 yards from the blind. It was an awesome experience. The look on my son's face when that bird came in was priceless. The bird weighed just under 25 pounds and has an 11 inch beard.

Can't hardly wipe the smile off his face lol.

Picking it up was a struggle...

That's great Hilltop! Hoping to get my son out this fall for his first hunt. Your son was smiles ear to ear, and I bet his dad was too...

Season is over for me here!! Had the perfect setup and videoed the whole hunt. One day I will work on the video!! We had a great season. For the past four years a friend of mine and myself have been trying to get his son a bird. We started when he was 8 and now at twelve he finally shot his first bird. I have all the hunts on video including 3 misses!! I am going to put a video together for them.

A pic of my second bird from the weekend.

Congrats Hilltop and 25Contender on some great birds and awesome success with the young ones. Hilltop that bird your boy shot looks like a toad. Just under 25lbs is a big bird. His head looks huge. May have to mount that one for the memories??

We did consider mounting it but honestly have no idea where I would put it. Decided to do a fan/beard mount for him. Will post pics when I have it done.
