Congrats all, on some fine turkeys! Montana, those Merriams seem a little shy, the Easterns and Rios we hunt all seem to come into that strutter decoy ready to rip its head off. Usually have about 30 seconds before one jumps on top of the decoy and starts thrashing it!

I called in 3 diff toms on Saturday. The first 2 hung-up. The last came in but I was busted by a hen at 10 yds when he was at 40yds.
I shot and he ran 40 yds and took a death flight off the backside of hill. I had good blood and assume him to be dead. I looked for about and hour in an effort to find him where I thought he would have landed. I was bummed.
Hopefully have better luck next week.
