Took the family up to northern MN over labor day weekend. My 4 year old is obsessed with bass fishing even though we live in a MN county with no lakes, and especially enamored with smallmouth despite never having seen or caught one. Lake is managed for smallies and boy were there a lot of them. Little guy caught the biggest fish of the trip at 19" and 3.35 lbs. With only one full day to fish and two little guy we didn't boat a ton of fish but they had a blast.
Think he was excited?! Unfortunately we didn't have the camera with when he caught the big one on his new pole.

I'm in Panama City again. Getting up at 4:00 to fish in a kingfish(mackeral) and snapper tournament tomorrow. Hoping for pictures and $$$$ to come our way. Will post results this weekend.

So here is how the weekend went. We had a great weekend. We were in first place in the tournament early but ended up getting smoked by a 42# king, ours was 12.6 lbs. We figured it wouldn't stand. We were also in first place with our snapper at 9.2 lbs only to be outdone by .6 lbs. We did come in second on snapper. Had we finished in first with the king and the snapper we would have won $8500...but we didn't, instead we won $200 for second place on snapper. All in all we landed 6 kings and 8 keeper snapper along with some red grouper, Bonita, cobia, and a trigger fish.
We went 35 miles out this morning and slap wore out the fish. My oldest (Maclean) caught to huge "reef donkey's" also commonly known as Amberjack. One weighed 49.3 lbs and the other weighed 47 lbs. I landed 2 huge 6-7 foot sharks that must of weighed at least 200 lbs. I fought both for over 30 minutes. It was cool but a pain at the same time. Really don't like catching sharks but they always end up snatching what we are trying to catch like grouper and snapper. We had a blast of a weekend even though it was a bonsai trip. Hope to head back soon.

Matt, I didn't see the text until last night, you see I was golfing! Lol. I googled wolf creek, it seems to be close to where we are, actually about in the middle of us and Lewistown where JJ lives? East of Denton? Looks like light rain Thursday the 22nd and snow/ rain Friday maybe Saturday the 24th.
