Fished the mouth of the Umpqua on Sunday. Bite was a little slow, but just enough to keep me out there all day. Landed 2. One Chinook and one Jack. Lost a bigger Chinook to a seal. Had a lot of takedowns but no real hookups. Great day fishing! The seals are out of control. Need a seal tag quota, IMO. Going tuna fishing on the 9th, out of Newport. If anyone has a killer recipe for smoked tuna, I'd surely appreciate some words of wisdom. Never smoked 'em before. Looking forward to it.

Matt, have you been tiring flys, your caddis, nymphs, leaches! I made my list to get done today with my wife for this week. It's coming fast! :)

I haven't pulled my vise out in years. Probably because I'm not a very good fly tier or lazy. Not sure which one?? Too many kids to chase around plays into that to. I have a bunch of flies and usually just wait till I get to West Yellowstone to see if I need to add to the collection.

I did fish the Chattahochee R. last week and wore out the trout. Had to get a little practice before I leave. Y'all (people on this forum) probably didn't even know we had trout in Atlanta. Everyone has heard of this river, made famous by Alan Jackson's song "Way down yonder on the Chattahochee where it gets hotter than a Hoochie Coochie". This is my home river and it fishes real good.
Might come up to Craig and fish the Missouri while I'm up there. Not sure yet. If you're up there while I'm there and you kill early you know you have an open invitation to come fish.
I bet you are buttoning up all your loose ends. You'll be in B.C. in no time. How long are you up there, 10-15 days? I sure would love to take a trip like that one day. You're a lucky man! Good luck! I'll be crossing my fingers for ya. Remember it's better to be lucky than good. I tell everybody I just want to be lucky! Don't care how good I am...but I know we make our on luck. Go get em and once again kill some $hit!

Matt, my hunting partner calls me lucky, lucky, lucky! I bought a camera yesterday and I just have a few tiny items to get. We may come thru West Yellowstone / Bozeman on our way up hunt. If so I'll try your cell, but like everyone we're in a hurry to scout! I have a ten day hunt13th-23rd. I have to be there on the 11th. It's going to be fun!

I'm there the 21st - 28th, so hurry up and kill something and maybe we can at least have a beer at the "Happy Hour" on Hebgen Lake or th e Grizzly Bar on the Madison. I'm staying at the West Fork cabins next to there.

If I'm in Craig I'll head over and help with the pack out. I ain't scared! Dumb, but not scared. Lol. Love to try some Pigs Ass. Never had that one. Is Pigs Ass kinda like the saying "everyone loves pigs ass but no one loves a smart ass" lmbo. Change "pigs" with "piece of". You've probably heard that one before. Sorry I know it's a family show, you just had to get me started.

Got a few of my MT friends out for some Salmon fishing before rifle hunting season begins. Chinook all over on the Columbia.

Nice Chinook! Bagged me a few Rainbow trout yesterday. Nothing as big or close to those but had a great time with my daughter. Trying to scratch the hunting itch lately
