The recoil makes me smile!
I agree with that CC, but now your smile consists of chipped teeth. I am going to make a final attempt at bagging something with my .454 Taurus Raging Bull this fall. I've taken it along on one bison hunt and one elk hunt, but ending up using the rifle as time ran out. For concealed carry, I always seem to go to my .380 Kimber micro, as it seems to be a heat seeking missile whenever I shoot it at something.

This is a good thread.
I usually carry a ruger sp101 357 love this gun. Lately been looking at the berretta px4 compact. Does anyone carry this gun and have an opinion on it one way or another good or bad.

I have been carrying the sig p938 as an EDC and carry it while fishing and bird hunting, I dont have dangerous bears here in the north east to worry about. I shoot is as well as a full size gun and I recommend the gun highly and know several other former LEO's who use this gun as EDC. I carry it in a chest holster under my vest and waders when hunting/fly fishing.

I have recently bought a 629 classic with a 5" bbl in anticipation of a western hunt in a zone with very high griz pops. I would have rather had a 3 or 4" bbl but the only ones I could find are the silly "liability actions" currently made by the once famous S&W, wont buy them for that reason ! I am considering having a 2-3/4 or 3" bbl installed should be fun in 44 mag!
My issue is I have been known to leave the pistol back at camp because they were heavy.... thats a poor excuse I know. I tried to carry the 454 Casull in 7.5" version and it just didnt work ....

I've been carrying a Ruger LCP II with a 7 round mag lately. Great little pocket gun for what it is.

I carry a s&w shield in 9mm in an appendix holster.

Im going to be going on a hunt in grizzly country in 2019, and wondering what to bring. I will be bowhunting and my dad will be along with me. I have a .44mag, but I cant hit much with it. I also have a glock 19 which I can shoot very well. Is a 9mm just a joke for a sidearm in grizzly country?

I know glock makes a 10mm that I holds similar to my glock 19, but that would be another investment...

Also, at what range do you ditch the bear spray and start shooting at the bear? I know they can cover 20 yards in about 3 seconds or less. Just wanting to know some facts so I can have a set plan in place if something ever happens.

My two cents, carry the spray. The 9mm sure can kill a grizz, but so can a 22LR. Would not want to bet my life on either.

Doubt you have time to switch from spray to gun. If you must carry the 9mm, I think Double Tap or Buffalo Bore make heavy hard cast lead ammo for the 9mm. But at least one of you ought to have spray, if not both. If one of you has a 12ga, big heavy slugs are an option, 18" barrel can be had for cheap for some guns.

I shot a can of bear spray off to know. the range was 15 feet after that the wind just blew the spray away.
