In the States, I only hunt with my Thompson Contender pistol, chambered in .375 JDJ and topped with a 4 power Leupold pistol scope. if I go hunt with my buddy in Canada, I hunt with a Encore rifle chambered in .300 Win Mag......only because I cannot use my pistol!

Get serious get a Hoyt. Bowhunt everything! Nothing beats the rush of getting them close and stick n' em.

Loveland, CO. was AZ.
I have used my Savage 111 in .270 sending Nosler Accubond 140g. Dropped 3 bulls and 2 cows in their tracks. Longest shot was approx 320yds on 6x6 bull. 270 is certainly plenty gun out to 350-375yds.

.338 win mag with barnes 225....I know a lot of gun for elk but if you read my "mistake" on another thread you'd understand. I do believe in my 7mm rem mag, but after watching one walk away after what I thought was a good shot at under 100 yrds, I'll stick to the 338 and leave 7 for deer.

I use my "all around gun" for everything, .338 Win Mag with Barnes 210 grain TSX. Elk, bear, deer, antelope, and moose.
