My favorite used to be my .375 H&H, but the weight and old age finally caught-up to me. Now my favorite is my 30.06, and I'm still pondering a 6.5 Creedmoor in a 6 1/2 lb. rifle.

Mine is a Ruger #1B in 30-06 shooting a 165 gr. Nosler Accubond or Partition. This rifle has a fixed 4x Leupold on it.

If I had to get rid of everything else; I would keep my MathewsDXT.
Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately) I have both Bow hunting buddies and rifle hunting buddies.
I shoot my Browning with boss in .300 WSM when hunting with the 2nd group.

The muzzleloader for me... Think I'm done with the bow. Just didn't do it for me like the smoke pole!!!

I agree but I tore up my shoulder really bad when I was 18 so bow hunting was never an option for me.

For me it would have to be the Paklite kit by Buck for several reasons. One, it's versatile and lightweight for pack ins. Two they hold an edge well and are easy to sharpen. Finally, requires a successful harvest to use 
For the actual harvest, I'm with OregonJim; any well tuned Mathews bow for me.
If the time comes for me to pull out the long gun, will either be a Thompson Encore or Browning X-Bolt .300

I like what I shoot well! I was using a 30-378 with 180 gr tsx and it shot darts . Furthest shot was 609 and closest was 25 yds on a raghorn. I just loaded up some 200lrx running at 3210 and if I can get the accuracy like the 180's I will shoot the 200's. It did take a few years of working out the kinks, but it is a dream to shoot now. I have a 7 ultra as a back up that always gets borrowed with 140 ttsx and it has taken a Dall sheep, Grizz, Big Horn, 3 elk and 2 deer. I have yet to use it!!! It does shoot flat. I love muzzy hunting though and I think I am going to be switching soon.
Hey, if you shoot lights out with that gun, by all means make that baby your number one!!!

I'd have to pick my old Winchester model 70, 30.06 with plain old green and yellow box 180 gr. PSP core lokts.(my Dad gave it to me when I was 12, it was his and he got a .338) I've used my dad's .338 model 70 on one bull, for sentimental reasons after he passed away and took the last 2 with a 300RUM, but I still will have to say that old .06 is my favorite! All that said I like my MZ and Bow too, I just haven't had that many opportunities with them yet!

I have said this before in other threads, but if you are hunting elk on public land, it is imperative that you kill your animal DIT. Otherwise, you are likely to find that someone else has tagged your elk, if you ever find it at all. The best caliber that I have found for DIT is a .358 Norma Magnum using a Speer 250 gr. Grand Slam bullet. I have found it to be more effective than the .375 H & H Magnum or the .35 Whelen that I used previously. Elk hit the dirt like they were struck by the Hammer of Thor. It is also a bit of fun to use something that you do not come across every day.
340 Weatherby Mark V with 210 Nosler partitions works best for me...and my wife. It also works good on moose, antelope, deer, buffalo, kudu, duiker, steenbok warthogs, duikers, hartebeest, blesbok, gemsbok, bears, coyotes and grouse. I bet it would work good on halibut too.

270 is generally my first choice for everything, but I also like ML hunts and I like my old 30-30 carbine in heavy timber where I wont be shooting to far.
