My popup blind has faded to a reddish color from sitting in the sun to long. Has this ever happened to anyone else? Can you paint them or is that just a waste because the paint will crack off from opening and closing it?

Thanks

Yes it happens to me every couple of years. I heard you can buy a spray can material dye. When mine get in bad shape, I just trash them and buy a new one. I typically get 3 or 4 years out of them.

I have used material dye but its honestly a waist if time. Once the cheaper ones turn reddish the material is really starting to get weak. Rips and tears will soon follow. Keep in mind, deer are color blind so it really shouldn't matter for you- especially if you are brushing the blind in. I did have one friend that attached material to his old blind to make it sort of a Ghillie suit blind. Looked cool but didn't perform any better really. Blind placement and brushing them in well are the two ingredients for success to me.

I had a couple of covers for my quads made out of the same stuff...lasted a couple of years, then faded and finally started shredding. I spent the $$$ and bought some real covers made out of Sumbrella material.
