Late November 2015 4th season Colorado. Got down to 5 degrees the night before opening, wind blew like hell and snowed about 2". Blew away my portable popup picnic cover. Had fun....tons of deer!

I use horsepower to scout out mule deer and elk areas ive wanted to look at... then will go back in summer if they appear promising! Hell of a lot easier getting to them on my sled than my feet... and just normal backcountry riding is hard to beat where i live[emoji41]

I LOVE winter, it's 9 months of the year here so you learn to play in it.

To all you people that enjoy the winter, I just found out we only have 12 more years to enjoy this planet before the world ends. Better enjoy now while you can. Burn all your points now, The last couple of years will get really crazy in the field. Maybe in year 11 they will open up all the national parks to hunting. This has got me rethinking my hunt plans and trying to figure out which units are most accessible by train. The bad news is that I work construction, so I am going to have a tough time finding time off if we have to rebuild every damn building in 12 years. Gotta go, that firewood is not going to split itself.

More hiking with the pups (in the winter) last weekend.
This time with our new Irish Wolfhound that we just rescued ... he's the small horse looking pup in the bottom left of the pic.
