Anybody ever put in any time in S21? I'll be up there this fall

CC, you and I put in for the same unit for desert sheep. I didn't draw again. I was thinking of floating the river this summer, the flows will be up and it might make for a fun weekend and I could get a look at some of the country just in case I ever draw that tag.

The river will be up for sure and it flows right thru the unit. There is also a 2 track that runs along the upper part. My neighbor shot a sheep 5 or 6 years ago right in that area. If you want to discuss it more, send me a PM.

Check it out on the CO Hunt Atlas. The sheep range in that unit is more widespread than any unit in the state, about 30 miles wide, divided by the highway down to Durango. About half of it is wilderness and most of it is around timberline, though some is as low as 9k ft. It connects with S33 in the SE and sheep will wander back and forth between units.

I would call the office in Durango and ask for the terrestrial biologist most familiar with sheep and see if they can help you narrow it down some.

Thanks for the insight! I have the ewe tag so it's all east of 550. That narrows it down for me

I guess I don?t understand why if we aren?t gaining pp?s for Desert Bighorn why we are getting charged a preference point fee for an unsuccessful draw?

Looks like my last shot is Colorado bear tag. The way this draw season has went I will probly miss on it at 80% draw with higher quota than last year

Debit card was just hit for $50 and my moose application changed from $7 to $57. Guess no moose tag for me this year.
