Matt told me they cut cow tags down to like 10 or something. My kids didn't draw as second choice starting last year. This year the same. First time ever I didn't get either sex 4th season as second choice. Just otc this year.Well, no hit for me yet. I might be a victim of more applications due to just the app fee and not having to put the money up front.
The last 20 or so years I have been able to draw a third season cow elk tag as a second choice with no problem. This year I put in for it with zero points as a first choice and no love yet.
We'll see what happens with my muzzle loader deer tag. My first choice isn't a certain draw but it is close but my second choice hunt has gone to leftover that you can get over the counter, we'll see.
Preference points have been $40 per species for residents for a number of years. You're exempt from the $40 point fee if you held an annual license the previous year.I'm still waiting for my e-mail about Deer and Elk ... no news yet.
I have 2 friends who only applied for Preference Points (1 Res & 1 Non-Res) and they both received e-mails that they got their points and they were charged a $40 fee for each point.
Maybe I missed that in the new Regulations ... Did they say Preference Points were going to cost $40?
A way around that $40 fee if you apply for both deer and elk is just to purchase a annual fishing license for this year for $56 Then next year if you just want points you won't have to pay that preference point fee which could add up fast if you apply for more than one animal.I'm still waiting for my e-mail about Deer and Elk ... no news yet.
