I had a few extensions hooked together in conjunction with a swivel as well trying to get into a tight spot and I can only assume that the "Flex of the swivels was putting a TON of "Recoil" back into the drill. Lesson learned the hard way, I guess. Wouldn't think that would damage the tool, but it obviously did.
I had initially thought it was an extra bearing. It wasn't. So, I shouldn't have been so quick to blame Dewalt for that.
Impactor shaft chipped where the transfer bearings were slamming up and down.
Said Chips fell into the housing.
Destroyed the nose cone bearing.
Destroyed the anvil assembly.
Shipped it off to Dewalt yesterday. $139 to fix it no questions asked. Cheaper than a $250 drill I guess and for some stupid reason it was cheaper than the parts they would sell me to fix it....WTF.
