alright some of you may have seen my post on recommendations on bows, now i want to open up the discussion for sights. I'm buying my new bow in the next couple of weeks, ive got it narrowed down to the hoyt faktor 34 or pse source. now the sights im looking at are the tru glo tsx and the IQ bowsight. Now i dont know much at all about the IQ. has anyone shot one before? and are they were the extra 50 bucks?

I shoot the trophy ridge react 5 pin and love it! So easy to sight in when switching setups and it has a large sight housing which makes the sight picture seem open and not as cluttered. Give it a look!

To me the IQ sight seems a little too gimmicky, but I haven't tried one to see. The only evidence I have is that I don't see many people shooting them, and if they really made a difference you wouldn't see so many people shooting Spott Hogs and Black Golds. I am a black gold guy personally. I shoot a custom 4 pin ascent with a 6 inch dovetail and vengence head. .19 for my 1-30 and 40 then .10 for my 50 and 60/floater. The photochromatic hood over the fiber optic works awesome too.

I realize you didn't ask about it but please take a look at the spot hog sights. I have no ties to them- just love the sights. They are worth every cent they cost in my opinion.

First, I am not familiar with either of the 2 products you listed. However, I have had tru glo in the past and I have not been happy with the tru glo products from a durability stand point.

I also am a Black Hills Gold sight owner and have almost the same sight that was mentioned above. I would highly recommend there sights. They are not the fanciest looking but extremely durable and well build.

If you are interested, I have a new in the box AXT Carbon Carnivore 5 pin sight. Its not on my bow because I have a removable sight I like better for backpack hunts. Its nice and light weight and the pins bring in lots of light.

boehunter, what makes it great for hunting out west over its competitors?
IMO there are many great sights. I have settled on Spot Hog because they have proven to be very durable and I like they way they are set up. They are extremely bright, fine, and easy to adjust. That said, there isn't anything wrong with 90% of the sights on the market. It really just boils down to personal preference. You need to look at the different designs and decide what you like to use the most.

7 pins for one anyone that antelope hunts and practices with there equipment knows its nice to be able to shoot long range archery. Pins are very well lit, visible, its durable I've had mine since 2010 have never had a malfunction, and im not all that nice on my hunting equipment. Pins for no reason will come loose and move on you. When you need to adjust the adjustments are fairly simple. Rather then a roll sight which is popular these days there is no adjustment needed, I prefer standard pins for quick aiming.

Can't go wrong with Spot Hogg. I've been shooting the Cameron Hanes 7 pin Hogg-It with dovetail slide and the Hunter with a 3 pin head and interchangeable 5 pin depending on my needs.

Have been looking to try one of their adjustable sights in a base and put my 3 pin head on it.

I shoot the Tru Glow 8 pin Extreme, because it is the only sight I could find with eight pins, and I could not beat the price. I have had them on my bow since 2010 with absolutely no issues.

Man these are expensive but totally worth it. I shoot the CBE tek hybrid 5 pin. I can shoot all the way out to 130yds. I know most don't shoot that far but it helps when you get to 60 and under. It's looks like a chip shot then. Awesome sight.
