My son has his own trucking business and travels all over the western US. I got a call last week from him about problems with his ankle. (he crushed it in a motorcycle accident 30 years ago). He can't drive, so I left Sunday morning for Minnesota, almost 1400 miles from here in SW Colorado. Picked him up and drove home, 2700 + miles round trip in 3 days. Took him to the ER in Cortez and they moved him to Durango. Surgery Friday with more to come. He will be staying with us. His Kenworth is in Minnestota and his pickup in Sal Lake City. What a mess!

That is allot of driving in that amount of time. Must have driven past me as i live in Alexandria right off of interstate 94.
Hope all works out but sure it will be a long process.

Finally got my son home from the hospital. Had surgery last Friday. They took all the old hardware out from the surgery 30 years ago and put in a permanent port for infusions. He has to have them for 6 weeks to knock out the infection. Then more surgery to put his ankle back together. What really makes it a messy deal is he has NO insurance. I didn't know about this, so it really complicates the whole situation. Lucky his business is an LLC , but I am sure he will have to get an attorney involved. His big truck is still in Minnesota and his pickup in Salt Lake City, have to figure out how he solves this issue.

That's getting rough.

If needed I am not doing anything until the first week of June if you want to get the pickup back. I could drive down to your place and then we could head to SLC.

I'm no help on the tractor since I gave up my CDL years ago.

Good luck CC
How would an attorney help?
I think the truck is still registered to him and not the LLC. I am pretty sure Medicade is going to come after him to pay for the medical costs they end up paying for. I still need to find out about the details of his business and how it's set up. He also has a mobile home that is paid for.

Thanks Jim, I'll let you know if I need any help. A neighbor said he could take me to SLC for the pickup. Right now my son thinks he might sell the big truck and get out of the long haul business.

Man … good luck CC.
I’m not a lawyer … don’t even know one so I can’t add anything.
If there is anything I can do please let me know.
