I need to have a perfectly elevated pillow for neck support. Every time I think I will get away with a couple folded up shirts and a down jacket, It kills me.

When I was a kid I used to use my boots for a pillow. I would just wrap them up in my jacket, it actually worked quite well.

So I did up a bagel sandwich and vacuum sealed it that a buddy does on sheep hunts. Comes out to .37 lbs per. It didn't flatten as much as I thought it would though. 4 slices of salami, 1 each of bacon and cheese. So I might take a few to supplement.
You might try the bagel thins instead? I'll second the Tylenol PM too... like I said earlier, I have a hard time sleeping while backpacking which is one reason I don't backpack hunt unless I have to. Tylenol PM has definitely helped me though.

1. More Fatty Salty foods, and less carby sugary foods. Just seems like my body craves the fat and salt, and the sweet food or protein bars seem to turn my stomach after a few days in the back country....

2. More electolytes and salt. I've had cramping issues my entire life, and its due to electrolyte imbalance not dehydration. I believe a lot of athletes and others with similar issues often think they need more water or potassium. But in most cases it's sodium and magniesium they need.

3. Bring, a pint of Brandy. I've never brought alcohol on a hunt before, but last year about 9 miles deep into the Idaho backcountry, we found and un-opened pint of brandy on the trail. I'll tell you a shot in your cocoa after a long day, before bed was really really nice.

so this is added: blue tarp (6 oz 6x8) EXTRA long spoon ( have not thunk of that) what COOP said.....but might sub the REI camp chair for ~6 oz as it adds to sleeping pad...what hacks for food? My cuz does deydrated fruits, but that comes with uber $...

I really like heathers choice packaroons, they really pack a wallop at a small price. Another thing I will be using this year is a lightweight set of folding sticks called polecats, they are now out of business but offer a quick setup and sturdy rest

I always bring extra jet boil tanks. If your freezing cold it works to take the chill off. I fire mine up in the morning to dry out the inside of the tent. Full blast when im out doing my morning paperwork and when I get back in the tent is nice and warm for putting on my gear.

Always bring a spare water filter. It saved me on my last trip.
