1. More Fatty Salty foods, and less carby sugary foods. Just seems like my body craves the fat and salt, and the sweet food or protein bars seem to turn my stomach after a few days in the back country....
2. More electolytes and salt. I've had cramping issues my entire life, and its due to electrolyte imbalance not dehydration. I believe a lot of athletes and others with similar issues often think they need more water or potassium. But in most cases it's sodium and magniesium they need.
3. Bring, a pint of Brandy. I've never brought alcohol on a hunt before, but last year about 9 miles deep into the Idaho backcountry, we found and un-opened pint of brandy on the trail. I'll tell you a shot in your cocoa after a long day, before bed was really really nice.
