If your a heterosexual white guy and haven?t noticed, the Democratic Party is virtually 100% against you, they dream of the day they can get even with you for all the success that you have experienced by having strong morals, Christian beliefs and a hard working ethic. The choice is pretty clear if you visit the southeast or any large metropolitan area imho, if your not wearing blinders. I have always voted for the best candidate until the racist election of Barack Obama. The true anti-white guy sentiment was all too clear for my eyes. That was a turning point for this old buzzard. I am 100% for public lands but fear that if the wrong group gets there agenda passed most of the things I would like to do will not be allowed anyhow.

I am a long time Republican and will generally vote Republican. But the GOP platform calls for transferring federal lands to the states which I am adamantly against. So I won't vote for any Republican unless he or she repudiates the portion of the platform calling for transfer.

See page 21 in the link below:

I'll fight that battle when it comes. But for now there are very few democrats that I would even give the time of day to.

You also have to watch what they are doing in Wyoming. We have enough imported democrats into Colorado that they can pretty much pick their agenda once they get elected. A few years ago they managed to take over both the house of government here in Colorado along with the Governors job and rammed through more gun legislature than you could even imagine.

I share the concern about the Democrat platform in many areas especially relating to gun control. At the national level, some of them are even promoting socialism! But the GOP platform regarding federal lands is unacceptable to sportsmen. I have told our local GOP leaders that many times and it is still in the national and Wyoming platform. Therefore, I've decided I'll look closely at the individual candidate and make my decision based on him or her...not on party affiliation. I've found most state and local Democrats in Wyoming to be pretty reasonable...not like the national Democrats. I have already voted...and I voted split ticket!

I totally agree! Anyone who votes straight ticket (on either side) is not using the knowledge earned at the school of hard knocks that all of us have attended. Don't let either political party tell you how to vote!!
I have never in my life voted for a democrat and most likely never will. I have voted for independents from time to time but in my life ,I have never run across a democrat I did not disagree with on virtually everything

I have always voted a split ticket. I'll vote for the person running rather than the party. But the big problem with a lot of them is they get that mob mentality once they get into office. As for a voting for a independent that is usually just like voting for a Dem. since they usually lean that direction.

I'll just be glad for tomorrow when all this BS will be over and we will have to live with what the majority decided for us.

the Dems are great at the “mob mentality” at least at the national level. Very hard for me to find any common ground with the Democrats, Republicans do plenty that aggravates me but at least I can find some things to agree with both economically and socially. The Dems have gone so far left they are about half a step from becoming true socialists...and that doesn’t have a good track record anywhere in the world.

It's exactly "the knowledge earned at the school of hard knocks" as you say, the reason why I voted straight Republican this year. The democrats oppose virtually everything I believe in, stand for, and do in my life...especially hunting, trapping and fishing.

I like seeing this discussion. It means people care, are involved, and are informed. All things necessary to our Republic.

I generally stay out of the social media political discussions. Having worked in higher education for 30+ years, many of my friends and colleagues are staunch Democrats. In-laws are hard-core democrats and my wife leans that way as well.

I am respectful of both sides, and generally vote Republican largely because of fiscal issues and 2nd Amendment / run rights.

What I find interesting and frustrating, is that Democrats can blast President Trump, call him names, attack-attack-attack, and say things like "he's not my president." And the media lets them get away with it over and over again.

But if I, or any white-republican, would have blasted President Obama, or said "he's not my president," we would have been labeled racist, bigot, etc., etc. The double-standard really chapps my a$$.

** Now back to your regularly scheduled programming... **

I'm jacked for the Deer opener this weekend here in Nebraska!

X 2.... It might be the last time I ever get to use a gun on a hunt before the democrats attempt to take them from my cold and very dead hands...

That is my attempt at humor on this glorious yet very depressing hump day. lol

I get your point and don't entirely disagree but it is a moot issue if we no longer have a country. all democrats are a clear and present danger to this republic.

take heart the dems merely took the house, they do NOT run the government. life will go on.

I expect they will chase their tails for the next two years trying to impeach trump. lol. truth is ,they were gonna do that anyhow.

I've stayed out of this because I don't like to see politics take over a hunting forum. I am a staunch conservative, and not necessarily Republican. I used to vote for some conservative democrats, but there doesn't seem to be any anymore (at least in Minnesota). I do thank everyone for remaining civil, and now that the election's over lets hunt.

Elk hunting in Wyoming, 2015. We got nailed by two feet of snow the day before opener and another 1 1/2' the next day. It was a tough hunt, but what a grand adventure. On day four I got the 6x6 that's my avatar pic.IMG_1303.jpg
