I have straight and wish I had angled. Both have pros/cons. Trying them out in a store really doesn't give you a true experience for what you might prefer in the field. I recommend really thinking about when you'll use it and under what conditions.

I second the comment above about thinking about how YOU will use it the most. I bought my first scope 2 years ago and went with angled based on some of the very experienced guys that post on here. My wife has a time with the angled scope. We used my uncles Nikon ED VR scope in a straight body last winter and she found it much easier to use for finding animals that were on the move. My next scope will be straight. I have top quality tripods (Gitzo) and will hang a rock bag on it if i find the extra extension is getting wind vibration.

I got my new angled Vortes RazorHD 1-33X50 this week. Looking forward to using it this week end.

I found out a cheap tripod set up for a cell phone camera is worthless in the wind with this lightweight spotter.

That's a nice little spotter. My friend got one a few months ago and we had it set up side-by-side next to my Nikon ED 50. The vortex definitely had a little more magnification.
