Flyforfun,
I'll tell you what the point is.
1. You wont see me ever make a recommendation on a hunting unit that I haven't personally been to, hunted, or spent time in...unlike about half the replies on this thread.
2. I want a NR hunter to come to Wyoming, with the best knowledge they can get, and have an enjoyable and realistic expectations of the hunt that was recommended.
3. Any information in a hunting rag, is already out dated. By the time it hits the "top unit" or the "best area", its already over in a majority of them...some times years late. Learned that lesson the hard way a few times, don't like seeing others about to learn the same lesson.
Sound advice is to cross reference anything you "hear" or "read"...most never do that, FACT.
They can roll the dice with that information provided by someone that's hunting on memories of what a unit "was" 5-10 years ago, what they heard, or what the guy on the next barstool told them. Burn points, have a mediocre hunt, and call it good...fine by me.
I don't operate that way...but to each their own.
BTW, the subsidy comment was awesome...and you're welcome, in advance.
