Not a chance he survives in Utah. People will have groups of 20 guys hunting with them to get a "sporting chance" at this guy.

Just curious but why was the camera up there if it was a UDOW? Live streaming? Forage/animal study? Just wondering. Grass looks good up there.

The deer herd up there is one of the most watched deer herds in the nation. Now only by hunters but by the DOW. Every year it produces a few true once in a lifetime trophies. Not only are there deer but also a free roaming bison herd is in this unit.

Yup... .that took a solid 5 minutes to locate the EXACT location of the initial video on Google Earth and that's coming from a Wisconsinite who's never seen the Henry's!

With today's technology, human's eagerness for that "trophy" and the modern hunter populations... wildlife is now at a great disadvantage. I'm an avid hunter myself but boy have things changed in the last 10-15 years.

Good luck my velvet friend... good luck. Drop low before the hill crawlers fight over you.

Coming up on a week into the archery hunt and from what I have heard he is still living. Supposedly 3 hunters tried him out but he got away.

Perhaps he has now learned that it isn't good to stand out in the open and has headed for the badlands.

Wow, you're right! It is really easy to locate that location on google earth. That buck and some of his friends are walking dead.

The last report that I have heard is that a hunter got a shot at this buck last week. He couldn't find his arrow or a blood trail and the buck hasn't been seen since. Cross our fingers that he missed clean, I would hate to learn that this buck died a slow death. So hopefully he went into hiding, and there are some great places for a buck that size to hide down there.

The buck was shot last Monday by a lucky rifle hunter. Measured a little over 39". Cool looking buck. He lucked into him, never hurts to be lucky.
