I will post mine up later, but I am wondering what 3 pieces of gear you guys think are the absolute coolest thing in your pack? I am not talking most functional, or best for its purpose. I am talking the one that you would get excited if it showed up under the Christmas tree with your name on it. Let's hear it!

Wow great question! Ok I would say this year is my new 300 Win, my GPS with the Nevada OnXmaps chip, and lastly my new Vortex optics I've picked up since last year. I did get to use the spotter and binos on one hunt for a friend but this year they will be me behind the trigger.

Mine would have to be a copper arrowhead an older gentleman from church gave me when he found out I bow hunted. We became very good friends before I moved away and I keep it in my pack for good luck... has worked well so far. Second would be a custom skinning knife I had made, but even two animals later I still can't bring myself to use it on an animal yet... I guess it is just another good luck charm at the moment. Last would be a shell casing from the first buck I shot on public land. I guess none of mine are super crazy gizmos or anything, but even when I change packs, these three things always move with me.

So far this year I'm really enjoying my new swaro's and the fhf bino harness and my new stealth cams I bought this year.

Leica 1000 range finder, Kenetrek mountain extremes, I've looked in three states to find a 13 wide, and the greatest would be KUIU camo for my BC Hunt next year. I hope Santa reads this.

If I could pick 1 thing to be under the tree before Sept 15 this year (yes I would get a tree Sept 10 if I thought this would be under it by Sept 15! HAHA!) it would be a good quality light weight backpacking tent:D

My DeLorme inReach SE Satellite Communicator would be my top item. Just got a new one 75 off and with the new freedom plans there is no use for the Spot I have been using for the last three years. Its going to be nice to be able to send two way texts to the family and my hunting partner in the field.

My Bully Bull grunt tube, it is cumbersome and a pain to pack around but you can make a canyon light up with bugles using that thing. It also works good for calling in other hunters if you're looking for a good conversation.

My Brunton Epoch binoculars, they get used more than anything I own for the outdoors and the best thing was I scored them on ebay for $475.

My Leatherman has to go on this list as well, I dressed three elk with it one morning when I left my regular knives in the saddle bags and you feel like Macgyver whenever you use it.

I hate stealing others ideas, but is hard not to.
My wish list:
1. spotting scope or binos w/ tripod mt
2. delorme in reach
3. lightweight rifle setup

current favorite items:
1. SG Solo Pack. This pack has changed my hunting more than anything.
2. Rhino 530
3. Nikon rangefinder. Never had one until a couple years ago, and this is something I really need.
