No known moose where they were found, however one came by the house on Bear Creek. I am going to do more research, like game and fish. Going to get more Google help too. I would never expect to find moose where these were found. T thought it was deer so I had given him the name,"Waterfall Buck".

I'm going with moose, too. Where I grew up there wasn't supposed to be a moose for 150 miles, but every other year or so a young bull would get spotted.

Moose have been extending their range here in Colorado for quite awhile now...especially in the SW part of the state. I've seen them here in our area (Between Cortez & Durango) several times. No established population yet, just seem to be "cruisin around". Wouldn't surprise me to see some for good here in the future.

Those sheds sure look like moose to me, but I'm no expert. I've shot a couple in Canada, a cow and a bull. Hard to tell from pictures.

Those are moose sheds, no doubt. I've found moose sheds in areas where they aren't typically found. For instance, I found a paddle in NW Colorado and the next year I found a paddle from the same bull 50 miles north in Wyoming.

Even if those moose paddles actually belonged to a muley, 220" is quite the exaggeration... by any stretch of the imagination.

xtreme,

I think the taxi was taking you for a ride (pun intended). Any taxidermist worth his salt knew right away those were moose sheds, and they don't score near 220 as mule deer or especially as moose.
