They are burbot. Also called eelpout. It’s kind of trendy for young guys to go out and target them now. I’m not young, but my boys areAre those Burbot? I have never seen one in person but have heard about them.

Very nice trout. I lived on the gulf for a few years and only remember a hand full over 22".Had dad out yesterday. He wanted to fish for big trout and we got 1 trout and 1 red for 8 hrs on the water. Good day w dad. View attachment 3976925.5 inch trout.

same here been snowing off and on all week . was bone dry all winter so at this point I will take all I can get. though there is still very little accumulation.Just stopping in to complain. April 8th and its snowing. That's just not right for where I live. I'm usually on the water and catching fish consistently by now.
