Woke up this am and collected some wood to take to the taxidermist for my bear mount.
Closing camp.
Always a sad day for me as i keep it to my self and go though the drill of putting things away for another year.
Satisfaction knowing we got to chase em again and our bodies didnt limit us. I should say " didnt limit me"
Satisfaction knowing that i taught my son well. Loved that he was thinking of the other hunter first.
To all contemplating going elk hunting. Just do it. Start somewhere. Find a mentor. Old guys mentor someone, young or old it doesnt matter.
Ill make some gear/ equipment notes and post in the next few days.
To those on their way out west for the last weeks of archery or the start of rifle seasons it should be great. Moon going away, getting colder, late fall it appears also as the aspen are just starting to change. Travel safe and good luck.
372 days till the 2020 archery opener.
Its a great day for elk camp.
