Very cool, we've taken 2 bull moose out of that very area you hunted. Lots of great memories.
Were the sheep still in the area while you hunted or had they been brought down yet ?
Did you do any hunting in the Pole Cr drainage, took my first moose there?
The biggest bull we saw was way back in the timber along a smaller creek. Couldn't get on him.
Be interesting to hear how old he was, neat palms!

When we scouted in July there were hundreds of sheep in the West Fork of the Ham's Fork. They were gone by hunting season.

The best bulls we saw were in the Ham's Fork during archery season. But they were in 10 foot tall willows. When we went in after them, they went out the other side. The willows were very frustrating to hunt!

Congratulations on a great hunt, to my way of thinking a 9th day bull is better than a 1st morning bull. You get to do lots of hunting, hiking, evenings in camp around the fire. Cooking, getting firewood, seeing lots of new ground. Maybe a beer or two or a good single malt. In the end there is no such thing as a small moose. They are all very large deer, the largest deer in the world.

Evenings in camp around the fire is what I missed on my Wyoming moose hunt this year. Darn forest fires and fire restrictions.
