My sister has 4 kids, so they'll get 8400, plus something like 7000 more starting this summer for the expanded tax credit.
I wonder what my BIL will buy, a new boat or side by side? Lol

It's crazy- seriously. My wife and I don't make over 150k but we are doing just fine financially. In our 40s and house is paid off and almost no debt at all. We didn't need a bailout and most that I know didn't need it either.
truth is , I've been busier then hell at work since the covid hit.
not sure I've ever had a better year . sorta hope this pandemic lasts forever.
don't need or want this government bribe but what the hell it's only paper. when the deficit hits 80 trillion a couple years from now it won't mater any more then the trillions we owe now. it seems congress has finally realized it is impossible to pay back anyhow so like a man going bankrupt, they are now on a final spending spree

At times it makes me wonder how the government actually decided that we needed this money.
I can understand those who were laid off or lost jobs due to the government shutting down everything but where I am located at things have been mostly normal. That is except for the ski mountains being shut down a month ahead of schedule, and the hotels letting their help go a little bit earlier than normal, that is for the first part of the shutdown. But things quickly picked back up.
As for needing it I didn't, but it was welcomed since I had some major dental work being done this past year. Getting a implant and a new tooth isn't cheap. But all of my "welfare check" went to this. It didn't stimulate the economy very much since all of the three payments went to two dentist plus quite a bit more out of my own pocket. The one thing that I liked about it is that it was $3200 that didn't come directly out of my pocket except for the taxes that I pay.

I've been trying for two months to get Social Security to figure out what they did paying $32K into my deceased aunt's closed bank account. No one seems too concerned about it, and yesterday I got a statement that she also received the last $600 stimulus. I'm the trustee, but I'm not really looking forward to going to Nigeria to get it back from the 600 pound guy in his mother's basement.

Yeah, this is crazy.
I agree, most of the people I know didn’t need another bailout check .... like most of the guys on here. I hope everyone finds a positive way to use these funds, but I don’t think all this free money will be a good thing for our country in the long run.

We will pay for all this stimulus farther down the road. If you have cash in savings it's becoming worth less every day.
good news is , all the loser dem states that have ridiculous fiscal policies will be bailed out so they can continue to exist and continue those asinine policies , so we can bail them out again and again and again....................................

I know no one that needs it, we don’t qualify so we don’t have to struggle with why did I get this money I didn’t earn.
The company I work for has turned down more work this last year that ever just because we can’t find good help. The government has made it too damn easy to sit on the couch and play video games and order takeout on the Oregon trail card. It sickens how lazy and unappreciative people are. We could have done double the volume of work if we could find good workers.

same here . those few who do apply for work are so worthless the world would be a better place if they simply slit their own throats..
and now dems want to raise the minimum wage . I won't even begin to address basic economics which makes this idea silly. instead I will merely say,"it sounds great to say people should earn a "livable" wage but the truth is half the workforce isn't worth $1 an hour let alone $15."
those who NEED it should get off their duffs and get a job and work like I had to .
of coarse most of those who NEED it , are to damn dumb to ever learn a skill folks will pay for.
instead of bailing people out so they can continue making the same stupid decisions , I believe it is long past time to simply let nature run it's coarse and let folks sink or swim on their own sweat and abilities.

I have been fortunate during this pandemic because I can work from home for my job. I haven't been in the office in over a year. Without the 100 mile round trip drive to work its actually been a boost in disposable income (saving on gas, vehicle maintenance, etc). I wish the government would have provided that money to folks who have been laid off or businesses like restaurants that have been really hit hard. I don't mind helping folks in need and paying for that later. It just doesn't make alot of sense to me to help folks who don't need the help.

I saw a story on the news this a.m Most people who responded to a poll ( I don't remember the exact numbers or percentages ) were going to invest and buy stocks with their $. That says to me that most people don't need the $. Most money being handed out is really not going to individuals, it is going to causes.

Yep. And when you pay it back they'll probably want interest................I received too much. Looking into what I'm supposed to do and not finding many answers. Should have been $4,200 but received $5,600. I think they gave me credit for my 21 (almost 22) year old. Our government isn't impressing right now...
